Meet Our Instructors

We are proud to have a close knit team of instructors and support staff, all with a real passion for swimming.

With a combined 50 years experience in developing young swimmers and helping children and adults alike gain confidence in the water, we believe that we offer the most successful and enjoyable route to becoming an accomplished swimmer.

We also take great pride in being friendly and approachable, with the aim of making the sessions fun and enjoyable for anyone taking part. This way pupils will learn more quickly, whilst having a great time too!

All of our teachers and dry-side assistants are DBS checked.

‘All three of my children have been taught to swim by Jo, Hayley and the team from the age of two.  They are now 9, 7 and 4 and they all still really look forward to their weekly lessons. What the team do so well is make it not only fun and engaging, but they also tailor the lessons to the individual to get the best out of them. The improvement has been amazing, and by making sure they have a good technique from the start, they have an invaluable skill for life.’

Jo has always been passionate about the water,  ever since her grandfather taught her to swim and dive at a very early age. Her water career began 17 years ago in warmer climates, where she taught scuba diving in Belize and the Caribbean whilst crewing yachts with her husband.

Returning to the UK and to landlocked Wiltshire she took up teaching swimming.  Whatever the age, old or young, enabling someone to become water confident is her passion. Jo is an ASA level 1 and 2 Swimming teacher and is also trained in Pediaswim Infant Survival.  She enjoys taking part in regular swimming challenges – the latest being the Bantham 6km Swoosh and the River Dart 10km swim.

Katy

Swimming Instructor

I have a lifelong love for swimming and competed nationally up to the age of 24. I have worked as both lifeguard and as a qualified swimming teacher since 1998. I have taught swimming to children through all the stages and provided specialist swimming coaching to triathletes.

I have deep roots in the local community, having grown up in Marlborough and then working as a teacher at Chafyn Grove School in Salisbury, then more locally at St Francis School in Pewsey and now at Preshute Primary School in Manton.

My great passion is being able to give children the core swimming skills to not only be safe in the water, but also the confidence to achieve any competitive goals that they may have in the future.
